Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University was founded in 2010 by the Turkish Foundation Association under the supervision of the Turkish Higher Education Institution.

The university was named after Professor Sabah al-Din Zaim, who played a major role in establishing the science of economics and business administration and was one of the first founders of the Society for the Dissemination of Knowledge.
